A Global Effort to Support the Fight Against Cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Marked in countries around the world, the annual initiative helps to increase awareness and support those battling the disease by raising vital funds for breast cancer charities and organizations across the globe. During this period, beauty brands often release limited-edition products or create campaigns in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as a way to contribute to the cause. At Blue Lagoon Skincare, we have been proud supporters of BCA Month since 2015.

For the last nine years, the Blue Lagoon has partnered with the Pink Ribbon Foundation to support breast cancer research in Iceland. This October, 30% of all Blue Lagoon Skincare Lip Balm sales goes to the Icelandic Cancer Society’s Research Fund. Established in 1951, the main role of the Icelandic Cancer Society is to be at the forefront of the fight against cancer. Last year, in 2023, we raised a record-breaking €42,000 — a number we hope to beat in 2024.

Financed solely by contributions from the public and companies in Iceland, the Icelandic Cancer Society’s Research Fund supports domestic, cutting-edge cancer research in the areas of prevention, treatment, and quality of life for patients of all ages. Since its inception in 2015, the Research Fund has awarded 98 grants of over 3.7 million euros.
